So apparently you can use Tasker alone to play your music on your Android phone with media controls. But what if you want to listen to internet radio? Unless your app starts streaming as soon as it starts, like TuneIn, you have to work around with root access to simulate touch input, or such nasty things. But there is an very convenient and light weighted way to solve this problem.
Tasker is one of the most powerful Android apps out there. It allows you to define conditions and reactions to those. You can control almost every function of your phone and automate its behaviour. In combination with apps or plugins which support Tasker there seems to be endless use cases. Especially with external hardware for home automation, which I’m going to give a look at with this post.
